the weekend.

Yesssss, I feel like myself again.  Dudes, being THAT sick really did a number on me and made me truly appreciate the fact that I rarely get sick.  So now that I'm back to the land of the living, I am excited for this weekend as we have many fun things planned.  So, I might be hitting the hay a bit early this evening to rest up.  Happy Friday everyone and stay well.

city escape.

It's funny, you would think that living in a big city would make you want to escape it for a calmer more serene spot on the weekends, but that hasn't quite happened for us.  We love being in the hustle and bustle in our daily lives and when it comes to the weekends, we try to stay right here.  And if we happen to travel somewhere on vacation, it seems that we are pulled in the direction of yet another city.  I mean, don't get me wrong, we do love laying by the pool with a book in hand like anyone else, but mostly when we talk about our dream vacations it involves traveling to a city.  Hello, Sydney, London, Paris...I'm looking at you!  What about you?  Do your vacation dreams consist of laying low on an exotic beach, or do they look more like restaurant hopping in the concrete jungle?

wedding weekend.

Happy Friday.  We are off to another wedding this weekend...yay!  I've been to so many weddings, you'd think by now I'd have a well thought out plan of what to wear, but last night I got a bit panicked and tried on pretty much my entire closet.  I finally found something, and then couldn't figure out how I would do my hair.  I'm thinking of wearing it up (gasp!).  Nothing too crazy.  A fishtail braid or a messy ponytail both seem like a good fit for me.

let's lounge.

As I mentioned on Friday, the long holiday weekend was filled with wedding fun.  I assisted a friend at a wedding on Friday and Saturday (at the bride's family farm) and then attended a wedding with my hubs in Napa on Sunday.  It was so much fun and a great way to cap off the summer.  But don't be fooled, although it's September, the temperatures around here are finally starting to heat up.  A few more weeks of lounging poolside, are definitely a must!

holiday weekend.

Happy happy happy holiday weekend!  How are you spending yours?  Mine will be filled with wedding fun.  I will be helping with a wedding, then attending one as a guest the next day.  Eeeek, can hardly wait.  Hope you enjoy your three-day holiday.

wine tasting.

I'm finally getting around to sharing some pics from the wine tasting tour that I mentioned here.  We had such a wonderful time and I can't say enough great things about the last stop at Ram's Gate.  None of us had ever been to the property before, and I must say it was amazing.  As you walk in, it's a giant indoor-outdoor wine tasting area.  Hard to even describe in words, but just think open space, old barn wood, and modern touches throughout.  My jaw was pretty much on the floor the entire time.  Our friend had also arranged for a picnic before we arrived.  So once we got there, each couple was handed a picnic basket complete with a blanket, tons of yummy food, and a bottle of wine.  Yep, we will definitely be coming back here soon.

monday, already.

Wow, what a weekend.  We had so much fun and I seriously didn't want it to end.  We spent Saturday wine tasting in Sonoma with friends (we honestly should really do that more often).  Then Sunday we headed to The Mission to grab lunch with friends, hang at the park, then ate an amazing dinner at G's parents house.  I know I must get ready for the week, and I think I might say this every single Monday, but I really wish we had just one more day.  Ummm don't you think that three day weekends should be the norm???  Here's a little sneak peek of our wine tasting at Ram's Gate.  More pics to come later this week.

pillow head.

We had an amazing weekend, but like most weekends, I'm always wishing for one more day.  One more day to explore new places, eat at new restaurants, wander around new spaces, take more time to relax...but it is Monday folks.  Time to get the week started.  Ummm, but as I start the new week, I may or may not be picturing myself with my head asleep on one of these pretty pillows.

new zealand.

This weekend we met up with friends at the Ferry Building.  I truly love the hustle and bustle of that place on the weekends...so filled with energy.  After eating a quick bite, we headed down to this amazing New Zealand pop-up restaurant, Waiheke Island Yacht Club.  When G and I went on our honeymoon to New Zealand, we visited Waiheke Island with these same friends!  So it was a treat to hang out at the San Francisco "version" with them.  Here are a few photos from our visit to the island three years ago.  Waiheke is just a short ferry ride from Auckland and it is absolutely breathtaking.  I'm craving a trip back.
